Preparing Your Team for Automation

The robot is the easy part. This course is for the managers whose people will work differently once it arrives: what to say and when, which roles change and how, and the skills plan that makes the change fair.

What participants can do afterwards

  • Tell your team what is changing before rumour does it for you
  • Map which roles change, which grow and which genuinely go
  • Build a skills path for the people the automation displaces
  • Keep experienced people whose knowledge the automated line still needs

Modules

4 modules, 5 facilitated hours.

  1. 1.Saying it early and straight

    1.5 hrs

The announcement conversation: what to say, when, and the vacuum that rumour fills if you wait.

    • Communicate an automation change before rumour does
  2. 2.Mapping the roles

    1.5 hrs

Working through which roles change, which grow, and which genuinely go - honestly, on paper.

    • Map role changes honestly across the team
  3. 3.The skills path

    1 hrs

A concrete route for the people whose current tasks the automation takes.

    • Build a skills path for displaced tasks
  4. 4.Keeping the knowledge

    1 hrs

The experienced hands the automated line still depends on, and what keeps them.

    • Retain the knowledge the automated line still needs

How it is delivered

A facilitator runs the course live, in person or live online. Attendance is taken per session, participants submit work against the modules above, and a facilitator grades it. Those records stay with the organisation and can be exported.
