Safety, Risk and Compliance for Robotic Workcells

The duties that sit with whoever runs the cell: risk assessment, guarding and interlocks, safe systems of work, and the records an inspector will ask to see. Delivered against your own site.

Runs most often inManufacturing and industrialsLogistics and supply chain

What participants can do afterwards

  • Carry out a risk assessment for a workcell on your own site
  • Explain what guarding, interlocks and stop categories are protecting against
  • Write a safe system of work people will follow rather than sign
  • Keep the records that evidence your controls
  • Know which changes to a cell reopen the risk assessment

Modules

4 modules, 7 facilitated hours.

  1. 1.Risk assessment

    2.5 hrs

Carrying one out on a real cell on the participants' own site.

    • Complete a workcell risk assessment
  2. 2.Guarding and stop categories

    2 hrs

What the physical and control measures are actually protecting against.

    • Explain guarding, interlocks and stop categories
  3. 3.Records

    1.5 hrs

A safe system of work people follow, and evidence of your controls.

    • Produce records that evidence your controls
  4. 4.When something changes

    1 hrs

Management of change: the new gripper, the faster cycle, the moved fence - and which changes reopen the risk assessment.

    • Recognise which changes reopen the risk assessment

How it is delivered

A facilitator runs the course live, in person. Attendance is taken per session, participants submit work against the modules above, and a facilitator grades it. Those records stay with the organisation and can be exported.
